Hillside Montessori of LaGrange is a flourishing school located 60 miles South of Atlanta, GA.
Currently serving students in Toddler, Primary, Elementary, and Adolescent communities (18 months – 8th grade), the school is just a short drive from LaGrange College and downtown.
In January 2025, Hillside opened a beautiful, new, sustainable Montessori campus on Hills and Dales Farm Road.
Hillside Montessori’s charm comes from its curious learners, authentic guides, and involved leadership.
We also have engaged parents, many who have supported the school since its founding as a 501(c)3 in 2011.
Current Hillside families live in LaGrange, Hogansville, Pine Mountain, Newnan, West Point, and Lanett.
Thanks to an abundance of local resources, our students’ experiences are filled with the arts, outdoor excursions, and dynamic speakers/demonstrators.
Guides and students work together to create a learning community that is, in the words of one volunteer, “an oasis of love and learning.”

A Montessori Message
The late Dr. Bob Copeland, local cardiologist, served as honorary chair of Hillside’s capital campaign. In this video, he explains why Hillside Montessori is a powerful asset, even a magnet, to our community. Dr. Copeland felt strongly that children should know the joy of learning.

Ivy Portis
Ivy was one of the 12 students in Hillside's inaugural class in 2012. She started as our oldest student and is, therefore, the first alumnus to graduate from college. She actually finished classes early back in December, and walked in the Agnes Scott commencement ceremony in May. She graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry and is now working with Avanos in Atlanta, testing medical equipment. [...]
Ryleigh McClanahan
Ryleigh McClanahan is a Distinguished Honor Graduate at LaGrange High School. She credits her Montessori education with developing her passion for learning in addition to teaching her crucial time management and life skills that apply to all aspects of her life. Ryleigh plans to attend the University of Georgia next year as a member of the Honors College with a double major in Biology and History. Coulter Nichols
Coulter is a 2024 graduate at Lagrange High School. As an LHS student, Coulter competed with Lagrange High's first Power Lifting Team. Coulter also has a gift and passion for helping and inspiring others to reach their own goals and he has aspirations of one day turning this passion into a career.
