The transition from Montessori to LaGrange High School was very smooth. I felt confident I could find my classes and interact with teachers and other students (despite it being fall of 2020). While I prefer the Montessori style of learning, I have had no problems being successful in a traditional school.
I am participating in the International Baccalaureate (IB) program at Lagrange, so my school work is definitely a challenge, but I am excited for the volunteer opportunities I will be able to participate in. I am a part of the Future Business Leaders of America, Foreign Language Club, Academic Bowl Team, and the LHS Soccer Team. I was named Defensive MVP of the JV team as a sophomore. I also was awarded the College Board Award based on my PSAT scores my sophomore year.
Hillside made me a better student and a better person. The teachers there emphasized ethics and responsibility as well as academic ability. I also learned practical lessons there, like how to run a pizza business and plan trips out of state. Hillside made me a much more well-rounded person than I would have been otherwise.
After graduation, I hope to attend the University of Georgia and study business and sports management or psychology.
