Marketing & Administrative Assistant: Laura joined the Hillside community in the summer of 2024. Although she has resided in other places she was raised in LaGrange and considers it home. Both of her parents are local educators and she saw the impact first hand that could be made by a special teacher.
She began her own path into education when she was just 14 assisting and teaching dance classes at LaFayette Society of Performing Arts. She holds a Bachelors of Art in Graphic Design from LaGrange College and worked as a freelance graphic designer from 2010-2024 doing marketing work for Mountville Mills, LaGrange Daily News, Techniques School of Dance and National History Day Georgia.
Knowing she wanted to be in the classroom, she completed her Masters of Teaching in Art Education in the fall of 2014. She taught Art at Kemp Elementary School in Cobb County from January 2018- May 2023 and has been a board member of the Georgia Art Educators Association since Fall of 2023. She and her family moved closer to home during the summer of 2023. In her free time, she enjoys cooking for her family and friends, traveling with her husband and daughter, and reading.
